Girls in STEM was founded at Jasper High School in 2016 by Alice Hou, with only seven members.	Girls in STEM invited Battlebots Competition team from UT Dallas for an interactive learning session at Jasper High School in 2016.	Girls in STEM members learned Java coding in 2015 with guest professor Dr. Jey Veerasamy from UT Dallas Computer Science Department.
