One of the key activities that "Girls in STEM" clubs host in school campus is to invite guest speakers from academic institutions and professional organizations to come to the club meetings and share their insights.

 

Some of the past guest speakers our clubs have hosted include:

• Professors from the Computer Science Outreach Program and School of Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Texas in Dallas

• Faculty members from Collin College

• Professors from Southern Methodist University

• Director of Advanced Business Development at ASC

 

There are many topics that the guest speakers have covered, such as:

• Their vision on STEM for girls

• Career outlook in STEM fields for high school students

• Recommendations for the selection of STEM subjects based on market needs
